Allison named Fellow of the American Heart Association

David B. Allison, PhD, distinguished professor and director of the Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC) and Office of Energetics, has been elected a Fellow of the American Heart Association (FAHA), conferred by the Council on Lifestyle and Cardiometabolic Health, in recognition of his scientific and professional achievements as well as his leadership and service. The newly elected Fellows were announced during the Annual Council Dinner, which was held November 10, 2015, at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando.

As a Fellow, Dr. Allison is looking forward to continuing his long-standing commitment to supporting the mission of the council to promote “the expansion and exchange of knowledge with the ultimate goal of improving cardiovascular health across the lifespan.” Additionally, he will continue to make innovative contributions through his research interests in obesity, mentoring, clinical trials, and statistical and research methodology.
