Dr. Griffin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, having joined the faculty January of 2012. Though new to the faculty at UAB, Dr. Griffin has been a part of the UAB family since 2000, when he began his undergraduate studies in Biology. He has additionally received his M.P.H. and Ph.D. degrees, both in epidemiology, from UAB. His primary research interests are in epidemiological methodology and in the field of injury epidemiology, particularly regarding motor vehicle collision-related injuries, though he is currently involved in research on risk factors for community-acquired sepsis and on improving health and safety among commercial long-haul truck drivers. Additionally, he serves as a statistician for UAB's Center for Clinical & Translational Science (CCTS), where he helps investigators across UAB's campus in regards to study design and analysis during the bi-weekly biostatistical clinic held by the CCTS.
