Research Activities:
Dr. Dawson is involved in multiple projects investigating the relationship between adenovirus 36 infection and outcomes related to obesity, quality of sleep and general good health. Other activities include quantifying generational shifts in the distribution of BMI due to non-assortative mating, assessing the relationship between outcomes observed in control and experimental conditions across weight loss randomized controlled trials, as well as the design, logistic support and analysis of investigations arising from within Office of Energetics.

Research Interests: 
In addition to the topics explicitly referenced above, Dr. Dawson is interested in statistical methodologies for genetic assays, particularly microarray and next-generation sequencing technologies. He is also focused on how changes to the either side of ‘energy balance’ affect health and body composition, in particular single feeding, shifts in macronutrient content away from carbohydrates as a main source of calories and interventions that foment changes in metabolism.
