Robert received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia. He later went on to receive a Master of Science degree in Genetics and Developmental Biology and a Master of Arts degree in Secondary Education from West Virginia University as well as a Master of Science degree in Genetic Counseling from Indiana University. In 2017, he was accepted into the Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Sociology degree program at UAB and in 2018, he joined the lab of Dr. Paula Chandler-Laney in the Department Nutrition Sciences. Robert’s current research examines the role stress plays on an individual’s health. As such, he is interested in the epigenetic and phenotypic changes brought about by stress.
